About Midrand

Midrand takes its name from its position roughly midway between Johannesburg and Pretoria, a location that turned it into one of Gauteng's busiest business corridors, lined with corporate campuses, the Vodacom and MTN head offices, and logistics parks. The Kyalami Grand Prix Circuit, which once hosted Formula 1 races and still runs major motoring and karting events, is one of its best-known landmarks. Large mixed-use developments such as Steyn City and Waterfall City have reshaped the area in recent years, adding residential estates, retail and green space to what was originally farmland. Its position on the N1 highway between South Africa's two biggest metros keeps it central to Gauteng's ongoing urban sprawl.
