About Muldersdrift

Muldersdrift is a rural lifestyle area in Gauteng, straddling the road between Johannesburg and Krugersdorp on the doorstep of the Cradle of Humankind, a UNESCO World Heritage Site whose fossil caves, including Sterkfontein, have produced some of the world's most significant hominin discoveries. The area's rolling grassland and smallholdings have made it a hub for wedding and event venues, equestrian estates, and boutique producers such as craft distilleries and wine farms. Casino and resort development, notably Silverstar Casino, sits alongside working farms and lodges like Glenburn and Avianto, giving Muldersdrift a mix of rural charm and event-driven tourism. It functions less as a conventional town centre than as a loose collection of estates and venues serving weekend visitors from greater Johannesburg.

Muldersdrift's outdoor life continues this stretch with the Local Hike - Kings Kloof through the trails. Bush Willow Tented Camp hosts the multi-day Effervescent — Ladies Retreat the same week, while Syringa Park turns boozy again for the Gin Society Gin Fest at Syringa Park on Halloween. Worship gatherings continue with Worship Night: Brendan Peyper & Allan, and the season closes out in December with the uManyano lwe Jazz Festival 2026: ROOTED at Casalinga Farm.
