About Bela-Bela

Bela-Bela, known as Warmbaths until 2002, is built around a natural hot mineral spring that has drawn visitors since the nineteenth century, when the site was declared a resort under Boer republic rule. Its name means "boiling boiling" in Sotho, a reference to the warm water still piped into resorts such as Forever Resorts Warmbaths and ATKV Klein-Kariba today. The town sits on the N1 north of Pretoria and serves as a gateway to the Waterberg, a mountainous, malaria-free bushveld region known for game farms and biosphere conservation. Tourism and agriculture, particularly citrus and game ranching, anchor the local economy alongside its long-standing reputation as a spa and wellness destination.

Bela-Bela's conference season continues with the ACRE conference drawing industry visitors into town. Waterberg Online hosts Sip & Paint With Elephants later in October, before Halloween weekend brings both a market and a cause: the Negester Kersmark and the charity run RUN FOR BOOBIES RUN WITH PURPOSE. November closes out with the Markdag at Lifestyle Ministries Centre.
