Events in South Africa
Business and sport carry much of Pietermaritzburg's calendar. The Pietermaritzburg & Midlands Chamber of Business runs regular networking sessions, Harry Gwala Stadium is a frequent venue, schools such as Maritzburg College host mountain bike series rounds, and the annual SPAR Women's Challenge Maritzburg is held each August. Student socials, house parties and shows at Golden Horse Casino in Scottsville round out the nightlife. August and September are the busiest months by a wide margin.
