Events in South Africa
Running shapes much of Upington's calendar, with races like the John Nugent Memorial Marathon, the Kalahari Mall Road Race and a summer triathlon. The annual Kalahari Kuierfees and the Upington Cultural Festival lead the cultural side, while the Desert Palace Hotel and Casino Resort and Die Eiland Holiday Resort are among the venues used, alongside gospel shows and dance events.
